Your driveway takes more daily abuse than almost any other concrete surface on your property. HR Concrete Services installs durable, properly reinforced concrete driveways across St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Tampa, and the greater Tampa Bay area.

A concrete driveway needs to handle vehicle weight, Florida's extreme heat, heavy rain, and years of daily use without cracking, settling, or deteriorating. We build driveways that deliver on all of these demands — starting with proper subgrade preparation and ending with a professional finish.

Our driveway process includes removal of existing surface (if applicable), subgrade excavation and compaction, form installation to proper grades, reinforcement with wire mesh or rebar, concrete placement at the correct thickness, and finishing with your choice of broom, smooth, or decorative texture.

We install standard rectangular driveways, circular turnarounds, extended parking pads, and custom configurations to fit any property layout. We also pour approach aprons that tie into existing city sidewalks and curbing.

Proper thickness matters. We pour driveways at a minimum of 4 inches with 6-inch thickened edges, and increase to 6 inches for heavy vehicle traffic. Control joints are cut at proper intervals to manage cracking and maintain a clean appearance for years.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a concrete driveway last in Florida?

A properly installed concrete driveway in Florida typically lasts 25-30+ years with minimal maintenance. The key factors are proper base preparation, adequate thickness, and correct joint placement.

How soon can I drive on a new concrete driveway?

We recommend waiting at least 7 days before driving passenger vehicles on new concrete, and 28 days for heavier loads. We'll give you specific guidance for your project.

Will my new driveway crack?

All concrete develops some cracking over time. We control where cracks occur by cutting joints at strategic intervals. When cracks do appear, they follow the joints rather than randomly across the surface.

Can you add color or stamping to a driveway?

Yes. We offer integral color additives and can coordinate stamped concrete finishes for driveways that demand a more decorative look.
